Finding your destination
Start by navigating to the Explore page from the top navigation menu. You can browse popular destinations, search by location name, or filter by activity type such as hiking, camping, or backpacking. Each destination card shows key details like difficulty level, distance, and seasonal availability to help you choose the right trip.
Building your itinerary
Once you select a destination, Cairn's AI trip planner takes over. Describe what you're looking for in plain language — for example, "a 3-day backpacking trip in Yosemite for beginners in June." The AI will generate a personalized itinerary that includes daily routes, suggested campsites, estimated hiking times, and gear recommendations tailored to the conditions.
Refining your plan
Your first generated plan is just the starting point. You can ask the AI to adjust the difficulty, swap out campsites, add rest days, or change the dates. Each revision updates the entire itinerary including gear checklists and timing. When you're satisfied, save the experience to your profile.
Tips for best results
Be specific about your experience level, group size, and any constraints like gear limitations or accessibility needs. The more detail you provide, the better Cairn can tailor the trip to your group. You can always come back and edit the experience later as your plans evolve.
