Changing your email or password

Update your account credentials from the Settings page, or use the password reset flow for email/password accounts.

For email and password accounts

Navigate to Settings from the user menu to update your email address or password. You will need to verify your current password before making changes. After updating your email, you will receive a confirmation link at your new address that you must click to complete the change.

For Google sign-in users

If you signed up using Google, your email address is managed through your Google account and cannot be changed within Cairn. To use a different email, you would need to create a new Cairn account with that email address. Your Google profile photo and display name sync automatically.

Password reset

If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. Enter the email address associated with your account and you will receive a reset link. The link expires after 24 hours for security purposes. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.

Security recommendations

Use a strong, unique password that you don't use on other sites. We recommend at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords.
