Whitefish Range

The Whitefish Range is a rugged and scenic mountain range located in northwest Montana, near the town of Whitefish. Spanning across the Flathead National Forest, this range is characterized by steep, alpine terrain with numerous jagged peaks and glacial basins. The Whitefish Range's western slopes descend into the Flathead Valley, while the eastern side transitions into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Hikers and backpackers will find a network of trails providing access to the range's remote interior, showcasing stunning alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and dramatic geological formations.
