West Potrillo Mountains

The West Potrillo Mountains are a small, isolated mountain range located in the southwestern corner of New Mexico, near the border with Mexico and Texas. The range is part of the Chihuahuan Desert ecoregion, characterized by rugged, volcanic terrain with craggy peaks, mesas, and broad alluvial fans. Elevations range from around 4,500 feet to the highest point of Robledo Mountain at 6,372 feet. The landscape is dominated by sparse, drought-resistant vegetation like creosote bush, yucca, and desert grasses, providing a stark, dramatic backdrop for outdoor exploration.
