Sweet Grass Hills

The Sweet Grass Hills are a small isolated mountain range located in north-central Montana, near the Canadian border. This unique range rises abruptly from the surrounding prairie, reaching elevations over 6,000 feet. The terrain is diverse, with steep-sided buttes, craggy peaks, and deep canyons carved by glacial activity. The climate is continental, with cold, snowy winters and hot, dry summers. The range supports a mix of grasslands, ponderosa pine forests, and alpine meadows, providing habitat for wildlife like bighorn sheep, elk, and grizzly bears.
