South Hills

The South Hills are a small but rugged mountain range located in southwestern Montana. Spanning an area of approximately 300 square miles, the range is characterized by steep, rocky terrain and numerous high peaks. The landscape is dominated by granite and limestone formations, with deep canyons, alpine meadows, and scattered coniferous forests. Elevations in the South Hills range from around 6,000 feet in the foothills to over 10,000 feet at the summits of the highest peaks.
