Sierra Cuchillo

The Sierra Cuchillo is a small mountain range located in southwest New Mexico. The range rises abruptly from the surrounding desert landscape, with rugged peaks and canyons carved by ancient geological forces. The terrain is predominantly rocky and arid, with sparse vegetation including pinyon pine, juniper, and desert shrubs. The highest point in the range is Cuchillo Negro Peak, topping out at over 8,200 feet in elevation.
