Raft River Mountains

The Raft River Mountains are a remote and rugged mountain range located in northwestern Utah, near the Nevada border. This range is part of the Basin and Range province, characterized by steep, isolated mountain ranges separated by flat desert basins. The Raft River Mountains rise abruptly from the surrounding sagebrush-covered valleys, with steep, rocky slopes and deep canyons. The range is primarily composed of granite and metamorphic rock, with evidence of past glaciation visible in the cirques and U-shaped valleys.
