Oquirrh Mountains

The Oquirrh Mountains are a rugged mountain range located in western Utah, west of the Salt Lake Valley. The range runs roughly north-south for around 30 miles and features steep, rocky slopes and high-elevation peaks. The terrain is dominated by sedimentary and volcanic rock formations, with the higher elevations capped by dense coniferous forests. Several canyons and drainages cut through the range, providing access to the interior. The Oquirrhs were historically important for mining, with numerous abandoned mines and mills scattered throughout the range.
